For Episode 2 of Fashion Is Not Is, we step into the world of Zendaya  and Law Roach - a creative partnership that has transformed red-    carpet dressing into something much bigger than simply choosing    a  beautiful gown. After more than a decade of working together,  their looks continue to prove that fashion can become part of the    storytelling itself.

Across the Spider-Man: Brand New Day press tour, Zendaya moved between carefully selected archival pieces, theatrical silhouettes and playful references to the film’s universe. From vintage Versace and Giorgio Armani to John Galliano, each look carried its own connection to the Spider-Man theme. Crystals, spider-web details, deep blues and reds made the references clear without ever turning the looks into costumes.

One of the most interesting moments came through an oversized vintage Spider-Man T-shirt sourced by Law Roach from eBay for just $35.

Surrounded by couture and archival fashion, the simplicity of the look made it even more memorable. It was a reminder that great style is not always about how expensive a piece is, but about how it is discovered, styled and brought into a completely new context.

For The Odyssey, the direction became much more dramatic and mythological. Schiaparelli Haute Couture, archival Givenchy by Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton and Matières Fécales created a series of moments that felt almost cinematic. Sculptural corsetry, glowing fringe, Greek mythology references, dramatic wings and extraordinary archival discoveries turned the press tour into its own visual narrative.

Perhaps the most fascinating part of Zendaya and Law Roach’s work is the research behind it. Creating a custom look with a designer already requires enormous creativity, but finding something made twenty or thirty years ago and connecting it perfectly to a story happening today requires another level of fashion knowledge.

What makes their partnership so compelling is the trust, intention and understanding behind every appearance. The clothes are never simply beautiful pieces chosen for a red carpet. They become part of the character, the film and the wider story being told.
